Congressman John P. Murtha
1932 - 2010
CERMUSA credits the late Congressman John P. Murtha with his vision, dedication, and support of the CERMUSA project since its inception. Congressman Murtha dedicated much of his career working to shape national policies on healthcare and leading the fight to direct funding to key programs and medical research. In 1994, Congressman Murtha was instrumental in creating the Center of Excellence for Remote and Medically Under-Served Areas (CERMUSA) at Saint Francis University. He was concerned about the access to high quality healthcare throughout rural communities, and believed that by investing in remote technologies, we can provide both a better life and lower healthcare costs for our neighbors.
