
Over 200 allied health professionals from twelve states attended CERMUSA's
Rural Telehealth and Advanced Technologies Conference on September 4, 2009. The inaugural conference, which was held on the campus of Saint Francis University, featured expert speakers from across the country and presentations on issues concerning chronic care, Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)/Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and applied telehealth technologies. A total of 106 allied health professionals (including physicians, physician assistants, occupational therapists, physical therapists, registered nurses, registered nurse practitioners, and pharmacists) received up to six credit hours of continuing education by participating in the conference. The keynote speaker was Brigadier General Loree Sutton, MD, Director of the Defense Centers of Excellence for Psychological Health and Traumatic Brain Injury, Military Health System, in Arlington, Virginia.
