CERMUSA and DiSepio Institute Sponsor Conference on Technology Trends October 16 On October 16, 2009, CERMUSA and the DiSepio Institute for Rural Health and Wellness sponsored a video conference featuring Dr. Curt Bonk, an international speaker and a respected authority in distance Education. Dr. Bonk is Professor of Instructional Technology at Indiana University, Indiana, and is the author of the book, "The Flat World Swung Open - Now We All Learn with Web Technology." His book offers an intriguing look at ten technology trends which he calls educational openers. E-learning and blended learning are key components that make up his unique framework. During his presentation, Dr. Bonk detailed different blended learning approachs used in training settings, as well as several blended learning problems and solutions. The WE-ALL-LEARN model helps make sense of the role of various technologies in open education, including open courseware, open source software, open access journals, open educational resources, and open information communities. As part of this, he discussed e-books, prodcasts, streamed videos, online learning portals, social networking tools, YouTube videos, wikis, and virtual worlds.
