Telehealth
CERMUSA’s Telehealth protocols have two main functions: application and education. Application is using computer and communications technology to provide medical services, which include clinical specialty consultations and assistance in surgical procedures via teleconferencing.
In addition, members of the healthcare profession can receive education and training over their own CERMUSA Telehealth equipment. Through these new levels of access, a general practitioner could potentially receive training on a particular subject from a specialist anywhere in the world. CERMUSA research staff are continuing to develop more new uses for telehealth technology, resulting in innovative yet practical products and procedures.
Beneficiaries of CERMUSA’s research into this new technology range from the physicians learning the latest surgical techniques to rural communities in search of better healthcare options. In summary, many good things lie ahead for medical personnel, educators, and patients.
